Lab Technician, (Mid-level) Cyber-physical systems (cyphy lab)

Job description and what you’ll do:

The CyPhy Lab Technician will have day-to-day lead responsibility for the operations and maintenance of the IN3 CyPhy Lab based at the WestGate Academy in Odon, Indiana.

The IN3 Cyber-Physical Systems (“CyPhy”) Lab will bring small business, academia and DoD together to support collaborative activities related to the NavalX Midwest Tech Bridge and other sponsored projects across the Federal Government. The IN3 CyPhy Lab is an integral part of an overarching strategy to leverage and build an ecosystem of economic growth that is speeding new investment and advancing partnerships, jobs and the talent pool in Indiana. The CyPhy Lab provides targeted capable fabrication and analytical equipment to the community. It is a well-equipped laboratory housing capabilities to support electronic integration and test, sensor integration and test, modeling and simulation, and mechanical prototyping. This includes electronic equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers), a series of modeling and simulation consoles connected through a high-speed network to a high- performance computer and a well-equipped additive manufacturing laboratory.

Who you are/what you have:

As the Lab Technician supporting the CyPhy Lab at WestGate, you will work collaboratively with DoD, Industry and Academia to support RDT&E requirements with DoD, Industry and Academia to provide guidance in their prototyping activities and equipment operation.  You will work with lab clients to solve the challenges associated with transition of academic research to industry or government applications. Your work will require the ability to work collaboratively across organizations and to assist in development and operation of multi-organization/DoD/University research or projects. Your ability to communicate and work with multiple organizations is critical to successfully promote the CyPhy Lab’s overall utility. You will have the opportunity to excel while working multiple projects running concurrently in the lab environment with multiple concurrent demands on your time.

Your knowledge of electronic assembly, networks, computer systems and test systems will be key both in your overall role in the lab and in promoting IN3 in its role to create opportunities to bring DoD, Industry and Academia together to solve critical technical challenges.

Key Tasks:

  • United States Citizenship
  • 3-5 years’ project/program management experience with evidence of increasing responsibility; experience managing projects or programs with the Federal Government preferred
  • Previous or current PMP or equivalent certification
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance or other government agency equivalent
  • BS degree in a technical/engineering field

Required Qualifications to Apply:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing US DoD software or IT programs
  • Technical experience in Cyber and Artificial Intelligence
  • 5-10 years’ project/program management experience with evidence of increasing responsibility
  • Active DoD security clearance
