POSITION – Chief Technologist, Hypersonics

Position Number: H20-001

Status: Full-Time (Exempt)

Reports to: President/Chief Executive Officer

Job description and what you’ll do:

IN3 is seeking a dynamic and innovative technology leader to establish and grow our hypersonic and ballistic missile modeling and simulation activity in support of government clients.  You will serve as the lead and subject matter expert of the group and will be the interface to our customers, university collaborators and industry partners. 

We have a highly capable network of partners that are advancing the state of the art in hypersonic technologies.  These partners have deep assets to support the activity including highly capable modeling and simulation platforms, High-Performance Computing (HPC) assets, and strong aeronautical/aerospace engineering groups, with unique test facilities to provide empirical foundations for the simulations. 

Who you are:

You must have the mind and spirit of an entrepreneur with the ability to develop and execute projects that meet the needs of the US Department of Defense and where applicable, commercial markets.  You will have the resources to start the activity but will be expected to develop and capture opportunities to grow the group.

Your work ethic, business acumen and capability to successfully solve complex problems are ultimately more important than your educational level, but a good understanding of space and missile systems is still critical.  You should also have experience guiding small, diverse teams of engineers and scientists, solving complex computational problems.  You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Qualifications to Apply:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret/Secure Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance as required. Active Secret clearance preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • BS degree
  • Knowledge and experience working with DoD programs and processes

You will be the lead and subject matter expert of the group and will be the interface to our customers, university collaborators and industry partners. 

We have a compelling network of partners advancing the state-of-the-art in cyber-physical systems technologies.  These partners have deep assets to support the activity including network emulators, cyber ranges, Internet of Things (IoT) development, 5G applications and security assessment, and hardware in the loop testing (HWIL).
